A UK operated North Sea asset was housing redundant drilling equipment no longer in use that, while still live, had an economic impact on the operator in the form of Ex inspection and maintenance costs.
Due to our extensive experience installing, maintaining and decommissioning hazardous area electrical equipment, Dron & Dickson were approached to consult on a solution. The area and equipment were assessed ahead of the combined decision for a full abandonment and positive isolation of all equipment.
